0-3 years old (Baby/Toddler Tickets) – Free (Although they may not be able to participate in all activities)

Over 15 years old (Adult Tickets) – £14.95

The event is held inside Hedingham Castle, Halstead CO9 3DJ.

Parking is all FREE. There is a short walk from your car to the castle.

No, children must have a fully paying parent or guardian supervising them at all times. You can get involved with the children or watch from the within the room during each activity.

As we require parents / guardians to be with their children at all times they also have to purchase a ticket. The castle charges standard admission for adults when they are open and in a similar way to attending a theme park with children you still have to buy a ticket. (You may also learn a spell or two!)

Tea, coffee and light snacks will be available to purchase on the second floor.

The Castle cannot accommodate buggies or pushchairs so you will be asked to leave these in our buggy park at your own risk.

Unfortunately there is no disabled access, as the castle is a historic monument. There are no lifts or stair lifts inside the castle.

Carer +1 Tickets and Accessibility

We want everyone to enjoy our events, and we recognise that some visitors may need additional support to attend. Here’s how our +1 (Carer) ticket works and what you need to know before booking:

What is a +1 (Carer) Ticket?
Our +1 ticket is a free ticket for someone providing essential care or support that enables you to attend. This isn’t about assessing care needs – it’s about removing the extra cost of bringing support so it isn’t a barrier.

If you’re attending as part of a family group (for example, with your own child), as each child attending requires an adult ticket, you’ll be charged the same as any other parent or guardian even with carer status. The +1 is only available where the cost of an additional ticket specifically for your carer or support worker would otherwise make attending unreasonably difficult or unaffordable.

Examples:

• ✅ When the +1 applies: You need a support worker with you to safely attend the event, and paying for both tickets would make it financially unreasonable.

• ❌ When the +1 does not apply: You are attending as part of a normal family visit (e.g. with your child or partner) and all members of the group are purchasing tickets as usual.

How to Request a Carer Ticket

1. Email us: Contact the office at info@redcastleevents.co.uk to request a carer code.

2. Provide proof: To be eligible, you’ll need to provide one of the following:

   • Statement of Special Educational Needs (LEA or NHS)

   • Letter from a medical professional on NHS headed paper

   • DLA or PIP award letter (DWP)

   • Attendance Allowance or Incapacity Benefit letter

   • National DID Card
     (Please note: we cannot accept carer cards as proof.)

3. Book your tickets: Once you receive the code, add your adult ticket (and any child tickets) to your basket, then apply the code to add one discounted carer ticket. Only one carer ticket can be used per booking.

Important Accessibility Information
Our venue is an original historic castle with very narrow stairways and no lifts. Unfortunately, there is no step-free access inside the building. Please consider this before booking.

Personalised letters are posted out in batches each week, if it has been over 2 weeks since you have ordered please get in touch.

Due to the amount of people moving tickets, there is now a £10 admin fee to move tickets.
